Bio

 Julia inherited her honey bees when her daughter, a Youth Scholarship winner, left for college. Since then, Julia has captured swarms, removed bees from trees, taught beekeeping classes, and continued her local club meetings. Being involved in the Women, Food, and Agriculture Network and the Iowa Farmers Union put her in touch with civic engagement, research, and outreach, leading her to create BeeLaws.org and author the Phenology Planner for Beekeepers.
