Arian Avalos:

USDA – ARS Research Geneticist

​

Academic background: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of Puerto Rico, and since 2019 has served at the USDA Baton Rouge, Louisiana as their geneticist.

​

Current research projects? Arian is currently working on research to verify if disease resistance can be genetically tracked and if certain breeds of honey bees have levels of resistance inherently tied to them. Recent work includes honey bee genotype identification through enhanced marker panel set.
